The Passing of Dr Carlton Tavares

Carlton Tavares
It is with great sorrow that we mourn the passing of our dear friend and colleague Dr Carlton Tavares, who expired January 29th 2011, in Cochin.

Carlton was born in Bombay, October 10 1958. Many of us had the
good fortune to be with him and know him well during the time he was at St John’s, after joining in 1977.Carlton will always be remembered for the kind and warm hearted person he was. He was so full of life, and we all enjoyed every moment spent with him. Carlton was without any pretense or grandiosity.
Those 5 ½ years with him in the Hostel Campus at St John’s seemed to fly by then, but now are deep and fond memories. Never will we forget those simpler but great times like walking with him to the Check post for coffee, or to Madivala for eggdosas, or those many trips into Town. He was always there whenever anyone needed a helping hand or a kind word, or for a long lively debate into the wee hours of the morning. Carlton, we will all miss your voice, but we will never forget you.
